A side view of the Municipal Opera House can be seen next to the Service Station and across from Ashley Street. It was demolished in 1996.

These premises of the Premier Drapery Company were built 1929-1930. The store was one of the foremost department stores in Palmerston North. In 1986 the PDC became part of the PDC Plaza. This was sold in 1988, and the PDC building demolished 1990.

This photograph of the eastern corner of The Square must have been taken before 1907 because the original, smaller band rotunda is present. It was replaced by a larger structure in 1907 and moved to The Victoria Esplanade.
