This view shows the Town Hall,a large wodden building constructed in 1903. The building housed the local cinema and Moore and Kerse, General Agents. Beyond can be seen a land agent and church.

Initially built as the Palace Movie Theatre in 1915, later the Mayfair Theatre, the rebuilt Odeon Movie Theatre opened 10 December 1965. It closed and was demolished in 1990.
