William Park's book shop

This building was Mr Park's first bookshop and was purchased by him in 1882. It stood between Church Street west and Main Street west. In 1884, Mr Park built larger premises alongside this building, which he occupied until c.1917.

Manawatu Racing Club, Rangitikei Street

The Manawatu Racing Club was formed in 1880 and held its first race meeting on Boxing Day 1881. The two storey building was their Headquarters on Rangitikei Street.
