“It's A Tough Life Getting From Point To Point”
- Description

This image was taken for the October 8th, 1978, edition of the Tribune weekly newspaper, but was not published. It is believed to depict setting up the lighting rig for the New Zealand Ballet Company’s performance of ‘Sleeping Beauty’.
An excerpt from the published article read: “On the road for a year. Dancing in often old, cramped and draughty theatres - will there be a good audience tonight? Making new costumes, repairing old ones. Living out of suitcases. Putting up props, setting up lights - taking them down again, adjust to the new routine. And they don't do it for the money. It takes a special type of person to be a member of the New Zealand Ballet Company - and dedication is a must, the company's ‘temporary’ tour manager, John Watson, told the "Tribune" when the company was in Palmerston North Iast week. It was the company's first performance of the classic ballet "The Sleeping Beauty" on its current national tour. This is the company's silver jubilee year - and, perhaps fittingly enough, it's the first time the company has performed the whole of the "Sleeping Beauty" ballet. Not many companies dance the whole thing through, he said.”
