This image was taken for a story that ran in the Manawatu Evening Standard on 09 April 1963, "Queen Jean, the successful contestant in the recent six-weeks' carnival organised on behalf of the Freyberg High School, makes a regal figure just after her crowning last night at the Palmerston North Opera House. Resting on the cushion is her coronet worn in the earlier part of the ceremony." This image differs from the published image.
