This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 27 December 1962, "Linens and silks were favourite fabrics chosen by racegoers on the third day of the Manawatu Racing Club's summer meeting on Boxing Day at Awapuni. Despite the rain which fell after the first race, many smartly dressed patrons were seen. Above are (from the left) Mrs G. Greenbank, who was wearing a striking ensemble in junior navy linen enriched with white embroidered flowers; Mrs T. Malloch, corded linen sheath in gladioli tone; and Mrs H. Harkness (Napier), muted tones of green on white silk ensemble suit." [This was not the image that ran in the newspaper, but differs ever-so-slightly in that the lady on the left is looking up in the image that ran in the newspaper.]
