Description

This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 21st April 1978.

"The Wellington based professional group Fool Moon like to be different, yet at the same time please their audience. Consisting of four talented songwriters, Fool Moon do produce an original sound, yet one that is danceable and interesting.

In fact 75 percent of the material the group will be performing at the Albert Motor Lodge this weekend will be original rock and roll influenced numbers, with cuts from such groups as the Rolling Stones and Santana playing a large part in the rest of their repertoire.

According the group's leader, Steven Holyoake, the group is either New Wave or Old Wave, with their sound bordering on good old rock 'n' roll, although not as light as that of, say, Tom Sharplin and the Rockets. Members are Steven Holyoake (guitar), Ray Stround (bass guitar), Stephen Laffan (drums) and Ian Lever (guitar)."
