This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 20 March 1958, page 12: "The highlight of the North Islands secondary schools' championships was the New Zealand record-breaking 100 yards breaststroke swim by the 13 year old Wanganui Technical College pupil, G. Wallace, who set the new national time of 78.9 sec to break his own junior record set in the New Zealand Championships."
