"Serious for some; Fun for Others" - Surface Flooding
- Description
This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 25 August 1958, page 10: "The torrential rain which fell on Saturday was the cause of some concern to residents in the city and surrounding country. In Clausen Street and Exeter Street many inches of surface water lay across the road and footpaths. For the older residents the matter was serious, but the younger ones, for whom water always has a fascination, the flooding was fun. From left to right are: William Robinson, Peter Devantier, Patricia Allen and Frances Robinson. The children had made a small boat which they floated down the over-full gutters."
