 Assembled guests at the inaugural dance held following the founding of the Wellington branch of the Palmerston North High School Old Pupils’ Association. The dance took place at the Alexandra Hall in Abel Street, Wellington. John Henry Chapman, a member of the Association’s organising committee, is fourth from the left in the front row. His sister Jessie Moore Chapman, by this date a teacher at PN’s Terrace End School, was Hon. Sec. of a sister organisation representing former girl pupils, founded in 1905.
