Description

Star Flats were built all around New Zealand in the 1950s and '60s as medium density social housing. Many have been demolished in the early 2020s but the Palmerston North examples were renovated and reopened instead. They are located on the corner of Botanical Road and Brentwood Avenue.

This slide was likely created by David Evans of the City Council's Planning Office. M D (David) Evans was a planning assistant from 1955 to 1968, Deputy City Planner from 1968 to 1978 and Senior Planning Officer (Design and Development) from 1978-1988.
