Description

The first Municipal baths were opened in 1917 in Ashley Street, on the site of the old town morgue which was shifted intact to Terrace End Cemetery. In 1966 the baths were replaced by the Lido complex in Park Rd and demolished in 1968. During demolition, the brick walls were used to fill in the pool.
