Snowdon Avenue is a cul-de-sac that branches off Brighwater Terrace. The pale red coloured house near the centre of the image is 14 Snowdon Avenue, and the three houses to its right are numbers 12, 6 and 4. The two-storey building to the centre left of the image, just past the house under construciton, is 23 Snowdon Avenue. North Range Road runs along the hills in the background. Tarakamuku (544 metres) is the mountain peak on the right of the photograph, visible above the roof of 4 Snowdon Avenue.
