"Kept Adding Weight Until They Broke"
- Description
This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on August 1960 "Yesterday at Armaghdown Motors Ltd., an experiment with tea cups ended with a bang. As the weight of one more person was added to the truck the cups disintegrated in quick succession resembling machine-gun fire. The photograph shows six men standing on the chassis while the track is still mounted on the cups, but shortly after the photograph was taken the weight of a seventh person caused them to break."
