Teacher's Training College

This building was located on the Teacher's College Campus in Hokowhitu. It was later named the Mataamua building and was the first building constructed for the Teacher's Training College. It was later earthquake strengthened with a metal frame extending round the exterior.
The building was scheduled for demolition when the campus was sold to the Wallace Development Company in 2016. For extensive information on the campus, search for Ben Foster's community uploads in Manawatū Heritage.
This slide was likely created by David Evans of the City Council's Planning Office. M D (David) Evans was a planning assistant from 1955 to 1968, Deputy City Planner from 1968 to 1978 and Senior Planning Officer (Design and Development) from 1978-1988.
