Planting of native trees took place to celebrate the centenary of the first Arbor Day in Palmerston North. Awatea Park is off the corner of Te Awe Awe Street and Fitzherbert Avenue. Rangi Fitzgerald is standing with spade, and Councillor Bernard Forde is in suit on centre right.
