Donald Martin (1869-1948) married Josephine Sotheran (c.1868-1947) in 1896. Their son, Norman McLeod Martin (1897-1965) enlisted with the New Zealand Army in 1917 (service number: 64093). The couple also had four daughters: Helen Josephine (later Mrs Palmer), born 1900; Caroline Thelma, born 1901; Marion Kate, born 1904: and Elizabeth (Bessie), born 1907).
