Description

This photograph shows a truck loaded with hay bales to keep them out of the floodwaters. One of the men is Norm Terry. The truck was owned by a local carrier firm by the name of J.W. Cooksley. The 1953 Rangiotu Flood was one of the largest floods for the Oroua River on record.
