An excerpt from the article read: “Palmerston North rally driver Brian Green held third place in the Pall Mall Rally Championship when its second round began in Palmerston North yesterday. This position on the rally table may have altered by the time the second stage is completed, around 8.30 a.m. today. The rally began from the city's Square yesterday about 2 p.m. and should finish at the Awapuni Racecourse this morning around 8.30 after the competitors have travelled some 800km of Manawatu roads. At the start of the Palmerston North second round, Ford Escort cars held the first four places in the championship table. Brian Green, with navigator Robert Orr, are driving the Albert Autos Escort 1800.”
