Description

The mill was driven by a portable 10 hp Clayton and Shuttleworth engine, using a 8 hp Seager winch geared to 14 hp. Foot's mill was the last sawmill to cut timber on the northern Tararuas. It was situated on the top of Forest Hill Road, Fitzherbert East and operated from 1920-1927. Refer to Fitzherbert East Aokautere School and District 1889-1989, p 35.
