Description: These images were taken for the June 18th 1978, edition of the Tribune weekly newspaper, the first of which was published with the caption “Mr Inteman (right) presents Mr and Mrs Ogier with their prize.”

The short article read: “’It’s a dream’. That was the reaction of Mrs Joy Ogier of Palmerston North when told that she had won a national competition organised by Smith and Brown's, and Maple stores. The prize entitles her and her husband Bryan to а 22-day holiday in the United States. The tickets were handed to Mrs Ogier recently by the manager of the Maple store in Palmerston North, Mr A. H. Inteman. Also there to hand over an airline bag and other items associated with the prize were the assistant manager of Air New Zealand in Palmerston North, Mr J. Hawthorn, and the Manager of Barraud and Abraham's travel section, Mr T. Mills. The ‘name the place and go there’ competition was conducted in 45 Smith and Brown's stores throughout New Zealand.

Contestants had to identify the locations of four photographs, answer а question about the location of one of the Maple's stores, and come up with an advertising slogan. Mr Inteman wouldn't reveal Mrs Ogier's winning slogan, but said it could be used in a national advertising campaign eventually. The prize is worth about $4000, and includes $1000 spending money. The tour will take the couple to Honolulu, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Disneyland. They haven't been to the United States before. Mr Ogier is export manager at Glaxo Laboratories, in Palmerston North. The competition winner was decided on June 1.
