This postcard is believed to be of Ross, Rough & Co. Ropeworks, Foxton. This business was situated in Johnston Street, Foxton. The name of the person who sent the postcard is not able to be read. The message says: How are [?] getting on [?] We hope (all being well) to go to Wellington for Xmas Mrs Troy Charley & Dorothy will keep house during our absence. Will be back for S.S. picnic. Mrs [?] will be staying a month I expect. The house I have crossed is the one Fred has bought with Government Loan, & is batching in it. The W. Ladds live in the next. I thought you'd be interested to see our house on the hill too. [?] brights & joy over Xmas to you all. I hope you received my long letter some time ago. We have forty young swans & fifty-two chickens but no incubators.
