The Palmerston North Gas Company is listed as winning the spring cart with gelding or mare competition in the 1909 A&P Show.THe Palmerston North Gas Company was formed in 1891 to take over the works which had been constructed by Coates and Co. Ltd of Melbourne. They consisted of suitable buildings containing 11 retorts and two large gas holders.
