Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh visited Palmerston North, as part of their New Zealand tour, 6-7 January 1954. A Royal Civic Dinner, organised by the Palmerston North City Council, was held for them in the C M Ross Ltd Tea Rooms, 7 January 1954.
