This view is of the leaching paddocks adjacent to the mill buildings. Horses cart fibre from paddocks to the mill. Note a two-wire drying fibre on the far left. The Miranui Flax Mill was reputed to be the largest of its kind in the world when opened in 1907. It was owned by A & L Seifert Flaxmilling Company Ltd and in 1926 employed about 300 people.
