Ashhurst is a state co-educational full primary school in the Manawatu region of New Zealand. Ashhurst School officially opened in September 1879. The first permanent headmaster, Mr Alfred Gower arrived in NZ in 1865 from England. He was offered the position at Ashhurst with an annual salary of £123.
