This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 30 December 1958: "A very important person at the Boy's Brigade camp at Foxton Beach is the cook, Flight Sergeant W. Boyer, of Ohakea. In the warm weather yesterday Mr. Boyer cheerfully toiled over his hot oil stove to supply a baked meal for the 150 lads at the camp."
