A studio portrait of two New Zealand soldiers in uniform, both wearing Red Cross insignia. The man standing on the left is Private Edwin Ward (75133), who served with the New Zealand Medical Corps, 39th Reinforcements, from March 1918 until October 1919. The seated man may be his brother George Bowman Ward (83583), who enlisted in September 1917 and was discharged on medical grounds in September 1918. Both men were brothers of Henry Ward whose descendants supplied these photographs.
