[High winds cause damage]

Description

This image was taken (but not used) for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 29th December 1965 "High winds caused unusual damage yesterday. A large plate glass window in the new members' stand at the Awapuni race course was shattered. The Palmerston North North Fire brigade was called to remove the fragments. In the photograph a staff member is seen peering out of the missing window while below, Mr. K. Ellery, the course caretaker, watches the firemen remove the broken glass."
