This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 01 September 1960 "Surveyors' levels pegs appear to brace the sides of this culvert trench on the left-hand side of Tremaine Avenue. When the picture was taken workmen were awaiting the arrival of the engineer so the next stage of construction could commence. "
