A view looking east up Main Street which shows the Railway Station in the centre of the Square. J McElwain sold this photograph from his studio and also out of W Park's Book Depot, claiming that it was, "A good representation of the Total Phase of the Sun as seen from Palmerston North." The eclipse itself took place on 9 September 1885.
