This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 10 March 1961 "Green Celery: Palmerston North to be trial city. For about the last 12 months the Levin Horticultural Research and Experimental Station have been working on an innovation to the New Zealand Vegetable world - green celery. For the next few months, Palmerston North will be used as the market for this new strain of celery, and it is hoped that with the co-operation of both the wholesaler and retailer it will be possible to judge the public opinion of the vegetable."
