Description

House plans for units that were built at the Transit Camp in Hokowhitu.

Post WWII there was a shortage of housing in New Zealand, and this camp provided temporary accommodation for families in need. Bathrooms were not a feature of the units and ablution blocks were supplied for use. The camp ran from about 1946 to 1960.
