Ninety-two floats took part at the Palmerston North City Centennial celebrations of 1971. Approx. 10,000 people were present at the event to celebrate 100 years of Palmerston North. Keith Roland Hamblyn was a photographer with the Palmerston North Hospital Board for many years. In a private capacity, he documented a wide variety of public events between 1958 and the early 1970s.
