The first image in this set was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 7th January 1966 "The Marlborough captain, B. Kennedy, whose team is the fourth challenger for the Hawke Cup against Manawatu, checks the wicket with the Manawatu captain, J.C.A. Thomson, prior to the first day of play this morning. Thomson has replaced M. Chapple, who is playing for Central Districts today." (Subsequent images unpublished).
