These images were taken for the Tribune weekly newspaper but were not published. The negatives had no accompanying information beyond the year ‘1978’.
They depict Te Marae o Hine – The Square hosting a parade and display of cars taking part in the Manawatū stage of the 1978 Pall Mall Rally, which was extensively covered by the Tribune.
These images form part of the Manawatū Evening Standard Negative Collection. Unfortunately, only negatives between April and December 1978 are held.
