A contractor, Mr. C Ayers, clears part of the former Cook property in Broadway, opposite St Patrick’s Church, for development. The half acre property contained a house built for Mr. Cook, a Palmerston North sawmiller, c1893, which was to be renovated and turned into shops and offices. At the rear can be seen the water tower and brick chimney which were part of the former Cook brothers' sawmill.
