This image was not published in the Manawatu Evening Standard, taken on 19 July, 1963. "These three girls are off to American next month under American Field Service scholarships. On the right is Cynthia Sampson, of Grosse Ile, Michigan, and the other two are Jenny Ramsden, of Palmerston North (left) and Karola Weir, of Bulls. All three were farewelled at a party held in their honour at Mr and Mrs A. J. Ireland's residence in Broadway Avenue last night. Another American student, Judy Bellows, of Santa Ana, California, was unable to attend due to illness." Another image of the group was published on 19 July, 1963.
