"Photographed minutes after arriving from Wellington yesterday are these skaters who are at present touring the North Island after attending the World Congress skating championships in Christchurch. From left the girls are: June Pierce (Brisbane, Australia): Marilyn Tabacchi (Detroit, United States): Chris Benda (Springfield, United States): Suzanne Pickard (Detroit): Mary Alice Clause (Pontiac, United States): Sally Richardson (Detroit), and Avis Bell (International Beauty Queen, from Palmerston North)."
