Memory Lane - "Star pianist a sell-out draw"
Journalist Tina White's weekly "Memory Lane" article in the Manawatū Standard. In 1955 pianist Winifred Atwell performed a six day show season at the Regent. The variety show featured comedians, artists and even some nudity. Pianist Winifred (Winnie) Atwell was the star attraction and at the height of her career. She was selling a lot of records at this time and was popular in Britain and Australia.
