Description

This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 28th January 1966 "Many Palmerstonians "ducked" this morning as two United States Phantom fighters streaked across the sky at a low altitude. Hundreds of people were waiting on rooftops and on the street for a glimpse of these aircraft, the Unites States Air Force's fastest and newest planes. --- The picture shows City Council employees watching the planes from the roof of their offices."
