"Saving the Ratepayers' Money."
- Description
This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 16 July, 1959. "City Council workmen in the Square are seen turfing the broken edges of a footpath. The turf will cement the crumbling edges and save the cost of complete resealing. The resulting gap between the extended turf and the lawn will be filled with earth and the growing grass will gradually heal the scar."
