Description

This photograph was taken from the T&G Building tower - below this building can be seen the statues on the top of the AMP Building next door. Visible from this height are also the tops of Garners Department Store and the Manawatu Daily Times office. The church with the large spire on the left is the Church of the Holy Spirit. The smaller spire on the right is St Pauls Methodist Church. Both churches still stand today, though St Pauls is now known as Wesley Broadway Methodist Church [2015]. Wesley Broadway Methodist Church was demolished in 2020 as it could not meet earthquake safety standards.
