“P.N. Artist Makes A Name For Himself”
- Description
-
This image was published in the May 14th, 1978, edition of the Tribune weekly newspaper with the caption “Roy at work on another painting.”
An excerpt from the article read: “A Palmerston North man who only became a professional artist a year ago is holding an exhibition of his work in the city this week. And the landscapes and seascapes portrayed all feature his own panting method, which he believes is unique in New Zealand. Roy Sefton is exhibiting about 50 of his works at the Glasgow Art Gallery, in Parlane and Glasgow's. Kins Street. The exhibition opened on May 7 and will remain open until Friday (May 19). This is Mr Sefton's fourth solo exhibition since he "turned professional" in April last year. His other exhibitions have been held in Palmerston North, Auckland and Tauranga.”
This image forms part of the Manawatū Evening Standard Negative Collection. Unfortunately, only negatives between April and December 1978 are held.
