Description

Mr Freeman became the first member of the Wagnanui district of the Oddfellows Lodge to receive the award. He is a past district Grand Master and has spent more than 50 years as a member of the Loyal Manawatu Lodge. The Society Merit Jewel (white star) is regarded as the highest medal to be attained in the movement - only one being presented throughout the country per year. He died 15/09/1986.
