Ashhurst School, Primers 1, 2, 3 and 4; and School Concert

Ashhurst School opened in September 1879. These photographs comes from the collection of Mrs Joan Crawley (née Butchers), a former teacher. They depict school pupils, both in their own clothes and dressed in costume for a school concert.
These photographs are of historical interest for the insight they provide into attitudes of their era, including views that many today may find offensive or insensitive.
