The second Fitzherbert Bridge was built 1933 - 1935. A young girl with flowers, outside the Esplanade on Fitzherbert Avenue, is part of the official party at the opening of the bridge. Behind can be Augustus (Gus) Mansford, Mayor of Palmerston North.
