Polish soldiers with exhibition of gifts for New Zealand
- Description
Some Polish soldiers with a display of the gifts to be sent to New Zealand. The art works displayed are of the painter Krzewinski (seated in the middle), with the painter Bednarski on his left and the cartoonist Kuczynski to his right. The gifts were displayed at Cupra Marittima, Italy, during World War Two, before despatch. The gifts were made by Polish soldiers to give to New Zealand as an expression of their heartfelt gratitude for New Zealand's treatment of the Polish children refugees and appreciation of the great friendship shown to the soldiers through the sending of correspondence and parcels, during World War Two.
