An aerial view of Awapuni area, showing the distinctive layout of Savage Crescent, the state housing complex developed 1936-1944 on Park Road, West End School at centre left and the Palmerston North Golf Club. In 1964 the Golf Club, formed in 1930, was acquired by the PNCC for residential housing, Awatapu College and the Lido complex, and the Club was relocated to Brightwater Terrace.
