
Frederick William Coombs, OBE

Mr Coombs, a partner in a city firm of public accountants, was born in Twekesbury, Gloucestershire in 1893. After 3 years overseas with the Fifth Battery NZFA during the 1914-1918 war, he became an active member of the RSA. He was awarded the Certificate of Merit and Gold Star Badge in recognition of his work for the association. He was awarded the OBE in the 1960s for his services to the community. He and his wife Jean had two daughters, Betty and (name missing). Article in Manawatu Standard 25 June 1974.
